This week we interviewed TTM Member Mia J.
Mia is a busy Mom and business owner who manages to keep it real, while entertaining her active 6-year-old daughter. I admire her for the balance she keeps (so it looks on the outside) in maintaining it all !! She replied to the questions in a text message, as she's a close friend of mine and so I thought I would leave the format the same as she sent it, so as to maximize how much we can relate to what she's going through ... (lol)
Hi sorry it's taken me so long! We've been sick and works been hectic arg lol
I'm afraid my answers are a bit short & sweet and probably reflect my stress & tiredness ...
Becoming a parent forced me out of my (introverted) shell and made me a stronger person.
Advice to a new mom, hmm depends on the mom! : Think of this as a season of your life that will pass. So enjoy the happiness and know the tiredness & sleep deprivation will pass.
My biggest parenting challenge is that I'm not patient enough. I wish time could freeze at certain moments so that I could forget about the rest of life and enjoy that moment more fully.
What I've learnt from becoming a parent: I view the world and the people in it differently now that I'm a parent. I'm kinder to others and more aware of emotions and consequences.
The most difficult part of being a mother has been learning/trying to balance work family life. I haven't got that part figured out yet.
The thing that makes me the most tired (apart from the years of sleep deprivation !) is the tantrums. I feel emotionally drained for the rest of the day anytime my child would have a tantrum.
